EU PRESIDENCY RESOURCES FOR MEMBERS

Ireland’s six-month Presidency of the Council of the European Union began on Wednesday, 1 July, with an opening ceremony in Dublin Castle.

Chartered Accountants Ireland has launched a dedicated online resource centre to help members make sense of the presidency, track key developments and access the Institute’s advocacy and policy work.

Available here, the resource centre features factsheets, publications, news and insights on key EU Presidency issues.

Visitors can avail of an introduction to the European Union and its institutions as well as an overview of how EU policies and laws are made, information on Ministerial Councils and a guide to Ireland’s role and priorities during its six-month presidency.

Members can also access the Institute’s recommendations on priorities for the Irish EU Presidency on competitiveness, sustainable growth, regulatory effectiveness and support for business across Europe.

The resource centre will be updated regularly, providing members with the latest news, analysis and policy developments.
