Relevant dates for companies

14 February 2005 Dividend withholding tax return filing and payment date and return of distributions made under staple stock arrangements (for distributions made in January 2005). 21 February 2005 Due date for payment of 1st instalment of preliminary tax for companies with a financial year ended 31 March 2005 and due date for payment of 2nd instalment of preliminary corporation tax for companies with a financial year ended 31 August 2004. 21 February 2005 Last date for filing corporation tax return Form CT1 for companies with a financial year ending on 31 May 2004 with the Collector General's Office. Relevant dates for individuals

15 February 2005 Final date for submission of completed Form P35 for year ended 31 December 2004. This is also the final date for submission of completed forms RCT 35 for year ended 31 December 2004.

28 February 2005 Qualifying Savings Managers of SSIA schemes are obliged to file an annual return for 2004 on or before 28 February 2005.

31 March 2005 Financial Institutions who are relevant deposit takers must make a return by 31 March 2005 specifying the name and address of the holders of special term accounts opened in the previous year of assessment, the dates the accounts were opened and whether or not the accounts were medium or long term accounts. 31 March 2005 Deadline for claiming Separate Assessment and nominating Assessable Spouse for 2005. 31 March 2005 An employer is required to pay PAYE/PRSI due on taxable benefits at the same time as he discharges his monthly payroll liabilities. An employer must discharge the full PAYE/PRSI liability by the due date even if the employee has insufficient after tax weekly/monthly income to cover the PAYE/PRSI. If an employer has not collected from the employee the total PAYE/PRSI in respect of the benefit provided in 2004 by 31 March 2005, the employee will on 1 April 2005 be treated as receiving an additional benefit equal to the unreimbursed PAYE liability. 5 April 2005 Under new time limits, introduced by Finance Act 2003, income tax repayment claims for the year of assessment 5 April 2001 must be made on or before 5 April 2005.

Note: The above deadlines may be affected by matters contained in the 2005 Finance Bill, which is due for publication in early February 2005 and is expected to be enacted in March 2005. New provisions may take effect from the date of publication of the Bill.
